Drymen is a charming village in the Stirling district of central Scotland. Lying to the west of the Campsie Fells, Drymen boasts views of Dumgoyne to the east and the spectacular Loch Lomond on the west. The Queen Elizabeth Forest extends right to the village boundaries, and the entire area is part of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park—the first National Park in Scotland. Drymen is ideal as an overnight stop for hikers on the West Highland Way, and is the western end of the Rob Roy Way.

Directions

Drymen is approximately 15 miles north of Glasgow and 20 miles west of Stirling.

If travelling by car:

  • From the South: follow the M8 to exit number 16, then follow signs for Aberfoyle, A811. Drymen is well signposted from the A811.
  • From Glasgow, M8: travelling westbound, go over the Erskine Bridge. Drive through Balloch and Gartocharn before reaching Drymen.
  • From Glagow city centre: follow the A81 to Milngavie, and then the A809 over Stockiemuir.

If travelling by bus:

Regular services run from Balloch, Stirling and Glasgow.
